2024 Moab Back of Beyond SUP & Kayak Race Weekend

Get ready for the ultimate adventure at the “2024 Back of Beyond Paddle Race,” kicking off on September 21, 2024. Hosted by Paddle Moab, this thrilling two-day event will take you through the stunning red rock canyons of Southeastern Utah along the Colorado River, offering some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery.

Schedule
Friday, September 20th
- 5:00 – 8:00 PM: Packet pick-up and final registration at Paddle Moab (44 W 200 N, Moab, Utah 84532).
Saturday, September 21st – Flatwater Race
- 10:00 AM: Day-of registration, sponsor booths, and vendors open.
- 12:00 PM: Day-of registration closes.
- 12:30 PM: All racers should be at the starting area (Dewey Bridge).
- 12:45 PM: MANDATORY safety meeting for all racers.
- 1:00 PM: Youth Race starts.
- 1:10 PM: Elite Race starts.
- 1:20 PM: Open Race starts.
- 1:30 PM: Kayak Race starts.
- 2:00 – 5:00 PM: Shuttle service for racers from Hittle to Dewey.
- 5:00 PM: Awards Ceremony, Raffle, and Post Race Party at Hittle Bottom.
Sunday, September 22nd – Rocky Rapid Whitewater Race
- 8:30 AM: Staging area opens at Rocky Rapid (13 miles east from the junction of Highway 191 and Highway 128).
- 9:00 AM: All racers should be at the starting line for the pre-race talk.
- 9:30 AM: Whitewater race starts.
- 11:30 AM: Awards Ceremony.
Race Divisions
Flatwater Race
- Elite Race: Men’s and Women’s Divisions (14′ boards and under)
- Open Race: Men’s and Women’s Divisions (14′ boards and under)
- Youth Race: Boy’s and Girl’s Divisions (12’6″ boards and under)
Whitewater Race
- Men’s and Women’s Divisions: (11′ boards and under)
Kayaking Race
- Men’s and Women’s Divisions
Prizes and Notes
- Cash Prizes: For Elite Men and Women.
- Awards: For the top 3 finishers in each category.
- ACA Membership: Required (annual or single day).
