Refined hull, streamlined deck, raised cockpit

The FAI 4si is the next evolution of the FAI 3X. The hull was streamlined. The cockpit rails were raised to make the paddler more secure and keep a drier cockpit. The deck was lowered and streamlined as well: gone are iako risers and cavities that might alter fluid pathlines.

Customizable Foot Brace and Seat

The FAI 4si’s foot brace and seat are fully adjustable, fitting paddlers from 4′ (120cm) to 7′ (215cm) and allowing effortless on-the-fly adjustments for diverse users—perfect for families or paddlers of varying heights. Move both components forward or back to shift the canoe’s balance and optimize performance in changing conditions. The solid EVA foam seat also provides superior comfort, even on extended paddling sessions.

Redesigned Ama

The ama has been fully reengineered for peak performance. A higher rocker in the tail prevents dragging, while a rounded bottom reduces surface area for a smoother glide. Enhanced volume also keeps it from swamping, ensuring reliable stability in any conditions.

Effortless Snap-In Iako System

The FAI 4si introduces a redesigned snap-in iako system, eliminating external push pin holes. Simply twist the iako to adjust or remove it, allowing for quick, one-handed changes without the hassle of pressing stubborn pins. This streamlined rigging system makes setup and adjustments faster and easier than ever.

Outriggerzone Construction: FAI VAA

The FAI 4si is the preeminent one-piece, or monocoque, V1 canoe. Built by Outriggerzone, as a unique single, seamless piece, it reduces overall weight and eliminates weak points typically caused by glue lines.

Uniquely constructed with prepreg carbon fiber, the FAI 4si incorporates high-temperature-curing resin that’s infused directly into the material. This allows us to carefully control the weight added by resin, eliminate dilutents, and deliver a canoe that doesn’t deform over time.

The Standard Hai V1, you have the ability to personalize your canoe with a choice of 16 colors for the hull, ama, and logos in any combination you desire. Additional customization options include a deck-hull color split, a colored cockpit, and graphics from our catalog—or even your own designs.

Standard FAI 4si also come with fitted dust covers for the hull, ama, and iakos.

Description:

FAI 4si Pro models are approximately 1.7 lbs (0.77 kg) lighter than the Standard version. This weight reduction is achieved primarily by minimizing paint layers and carefully sanding down to a thin finish, giving the Pro models their distinctive “sanded-through” appearance. As a result, Pro hulls are available in five exclusive colors—Pro Yellow, Pro Grey, Pro White, Pro Blue, and Pro Green—with customization limited to cockpit and logo colors. However, the ama can be personalized in any color, and unlike standard models, the iakos are also customizable.

FAI 4si Pros also come with thicker, UV-resistant fitted marine canvas covers for protection from long-term outdoor exposure.

Two colors for the canoe and two for the ama.

Extra Customizations:

Each additional catalog graphic or split incurs a $100 surcharge (except brand graphics).
Each custom graphic (i.e. not in the catalog) incurs a $200 surcharge (but can be mirrored for free).
