The Goodboy’s Long VBar is Designed for Outrigger, V1, Surf Ski, and Kayak Car Rack: A rack that fits a truck, van, or SUV.

The long VBar comes with the standard 6’0″ bar and two removable 1′ ends Vs. This works well for mounting on truck bed racks, vans, and SUV with a wider spacing.

For optimal performance, it’s crucial to ensure that the V-bars are precisely centered on your crossbars, both in front-to-back alignment. However, with hatchbacks and compact SUVs, accommodating a long bar without interfering with the tailgate can be a challenge. This is where the Goodboy’s Hatchback Special steps in. It features a 5-foot bar with one-foot ends, creating a total rack length of 7 feet. Sufficient for your 21-foot boat.

IMPORTANT FIT NOTES:

Standard hardware fits most crossbars, including Aerobars. However, we can make hardware for anything. Please leave a order note (at the bottom of the checkout page) if your crossbars are more than 3.5 inches wide, or 1 inch tall?

Is this going on a hatchback or short SUV? The bar should be centered on your crossbars. Your hatch however, may contact the bar when open. You can move the bar forward of center up to a foot, but no more. Consider a shorter Hatchback Bar (7 feet is plenty long for a 21 foot boat). Ideally, please consider the Hatch Back Special to minimize this.

Is your boat wider than 18 inches? OCs, V1s, rowing shells and full competition kayaks fit best in standard Vs. Some intermediate Surfskis fit better with extra wide Vs, and usually just in the back.
