Annual Canyon Lake Paddle to the Dam – 16 Miles
Riverbound Sports Annual Canyon Lake Fall Paddle to the Dam
Our annual paddle to the dam at Canyon Lake has been a ritual for us to celebrate “the shop is closed on Sundays for winter”. So what do we do? We go paddle!!!!
This is one of our favorite paddles all year! It’s incredibly beautiful, the temps are still warm and the water is not too cold yet.
If you choose to join us, bring your own gear and enough sustenance to get you through 16-miles of paddling (board, paddle, leash, PFD, water, electrolytes, healthy and hearty snacks)
We plan to meet at Acacia Recreation Site at 9ish and then launch around 9:30 AM. We are typically back in 5.5 to 6.5 hours. It’s approximately 2.5 hours up and 3.0 hours back, and we make a few break stops along the way. We will hang out on the beach at the top to eat lunch, explore and goof-around before heading back.
This is a beautiful paddle in the scenic Superstition Mountains during the Fall. Our great Arizona weather and low boat traffic makes for a perfect day on the water.
Don’t forget your Tonto pass for your car.
Note: Please let us know if you are interested in a shorter 5-7 mile paddle we may be putting together if we have interest.
